Tolia Nikiprowetzky

Tolia Nikiprowetzky (born 12 Septemberjul / September 25 1916greg in Feodosia in Crimea, .. † 5 May 1997) was a Russian composer.

Life

Nikiprowetzky studied at the Conservatory of Marseille and was from 1937 a student of Simone Plé - Caussade, Louis and René Leibowitz Laloy. From 1950 to 1955 he worked for the Moroccan radio, then in Paris for overseas radio service.

He has composed four operas (Les Noces d' Ombre, La Fête et les Masques, Le Sourire de l' Autre and La Veuve du Heros ) and a symphony ( Symphony logos 5), an adagio and a Diptych for orchestra, a saxophone -, a piano, a cello and a trumpet concerto, a concert symphony for wind quintet and string orchestra, two large sacred works ( Numinis Sacra and Ode Funèbre ), chamber music, piano pieces, cantatas and songs.

On behalf of Moktar Ould Daddah, the first President of Mauritania, Nikiprowetzky arranged a traditional folk song as the national anthem of Mauritania.
