Zungenbeckensee

The Tollensee is a lake in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). He is part of the landscape area of the lake district and extends over 10.1 km south of the city of Neubrandenburg.

Geography

The Tollensee is located in the city of Neubrandenburg and one in the city structure to Lindenberg district. It is located between Neubrandenburg in the north and the lake Lieps in the south. At the lake adjoining villages are Klein Nemerow, Alt Rehse and Wustrow.

History

In the area of ​​the south end of the Tollense and the adjacent Lieps the position of the Slavic main sanctuary Rethra is suspected for several centuries.
