Tollwitz is a district of Bad Duerrenberg in the Saale district, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ) and, together with the districts Ellerbach, crouching, Ragwitz and Zöllschen the village Tollwitz.
Geography
Tollwitz between Merseburg and Leipzig in the valley of Ellerbaches, which is a right-side tributary of the Saale.
History
For the first time Tollwitz was mentioned as Talwiz documented in 1253.
Toll Joke Dürrenberger Feldbahn (4,5 km ) was opened in 1836 with the first German railway tunnel (133 m).
From 1992 to 2009 Tollwitz belonged to the administrative community bathroom Duerrenberg. Until the incorporation to Bad Duerrenberg on 1 January 2010 Tollwitz was an independent municipality with the associated hamlets Ellerbach, crouching, Ragwitz and Zöllschen. Last Mayor of Tollwitz was Uwe Fischer.

The community Tollwitz has been approved by order dated November 1, 2008 by the county Saalekreis the leadership of the arms described below.
Blazon: " In divided Göpel section; front in silver a black Bergmannsgezähe, back in a black silver grooved red embattled walls, set with a black grooved red tower with a window opening and laterally overhanging hipped roof hohlgekehltem, down in green fan-shaped five golden ears. "
The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg Kommunalheraldiker Jörg Mantzsch.
