Tolunay Kafkas

Hakkı Tolunay Kafka ( born March 31, 1968 in Ankara ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach of Kardemir Karabükspor.

Playing career

Tolunay Kafka played for many clubs: PTT, Keciörengücü, Diyarbakirspor, Erzurumspor, Konyaspor, Trabzonspor, Galatasaray, Bursaspor and Denizlispor in Turkey.

In Austria he played from 2002 to 2004 for the ASKO Traun, 2004 for the LASK Linz and from 2004 to 2005 for VfB Admira Wacker Mödling.

For Turkey played Tolunay Kafka 33 times. He participated with the national team at the European Football Championship 1996.

Coaching career

For the 2007 /08 season Kafka was the coach of Turkish first division club Kayserispor for three seasons. In his first season with the Red - Yellow he was Turkish Cup winners in 2008. Towards the end of the season he announced to separate from the club.

For the 2010/11 season he then accepted an offer from Premier League rivals Gaziantepspor. With this club he reached in his first season at first to fourth place. So, he took part to the next season 's UEFA Europa League. Here you failed in the third qualifying round of the Polish representatives Legia Warsaw. The start of the Süper Lig failed with four defeats in four games. Kafka had beginning of the season, a strained relationship with the fans. After the defeat of the series fans were calling for his dismissal. Then Kafka's already announced his resignation after the third round, but he could be swayed by the club's management. After the lost game on matchday, the same situation was one, so Kafka finally left the club.

During the winter break, he was for the second time coach of the Turkish U- 21st

In the spring of 2013 came the long-time coach of Trabzonspor Senol Güneş, from his office. As one of the coaches who were active as a player at the club already, Kafka was immediately touted as a possible successor. Kafka had mentioned several times that he would like to eventually serve time Trabzonspor coach. Thus, the club's management offered him the coaching job. Kafka agreed and signed on January 29, a contract for 3.5 years.

With the end of the professional leagues in the summer of 2013, a new president was elected club Trabzonspor with İbrahim Haciosmanoglu. This presented as one of his first acts Mustafa Resit Akçay ago as the new head coach of Trabzonspor and explained the collaboration with Kafka's over.

For the 2013/14 season Kafka took over the first division Kardemir Karabükspor.
