Tom Dennis

Career

Dennis took from 1927 to 1933 at the Snooker World Championships newly founded and was able to reach the final four times (1927, 1929, 1930 and 1931 ), but had to give in every time against Joe Davis defeated.

He reached his tightest result in his last final that was held in the back room of his own pubs in Nottingham. Despite initial 14:10 and 19:16 leadership, he lost in the end but still with 21:25 against Davis, who thus secured his fifth consecutive title.

He took the next two World Cups, but there came no more to the finals and then said goodbye to the tournament in 1933.
