Tom Ford (snooker player)

Tom Ford (born 17 August 1983) is an English snooker player from Leicester.

Career

At the age of 13 years was Ford English U-15 champion. Since 2000 he is a snooker professional. In 2001, he won against Judd Trump the final of the English U-18 Championship.

Ford's first major success at the Snooker main tour was reaching the quarterfinals at the Malta Cup in 2005, where he lost to the eventual champion Stephen Hendry. On October 14, 2007, in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in the match against Steve Davis he managed his first official maximum break, a series of 147 points. On 16 November 2012, he managed a second maximum break at the Bulgarian Open in Sofia.

With victories over David Hogan, Anthony Hamilton and Judd Trump, Ford qualified in 2010 for the first time for the World Snooker Championship. In August 2010 he won the third event of the Players Tour Championship with a 4-0 final victory over Jack Lisowski. In the world rankings for the first time before he moved into the top 32. On 19 December 2011, he won the eleventh PTC event and thus his second Minor - ranking event.
