Tom Riley (actor)
Tom Riley ( born April 5, 1981 in Maidstone, Kent ) is a British actor.
Life and career
Tom Riley was born in April 1981 in Maidstone, the capital of the English county of Kent. The age of four he discovered his passion for the theater. He wrote and directed during his school years several plays. In 2002 he graduated from the University of Birmingham in English, literature and theater. He then attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he trained as an actor. His film debut was in 2006 in English- French film A Few Days in September. In 2007, he starred in the comedy film I Want Candy alongside Carmen Electra his first starring role. In the same year he took over the direct-to- video horror film House on Haunted Hill - The Return to House of Secrets, the sequel to House on Haunted Hill in 1999, the role of Amanda Righettis friend Paul.
Followed in 2009 by the Irish comedy Two Weddings and a love case of Riley 's friend Sally Hawkins ' character represented, and a role in The St. Trinian's 2 - Treasure Hunt, the sequel to The St. Trinian's out of the year 2007th in addition to his two roles in the miniseries, when Jane Austen knew (2008) and bouquet of Barbed Wire (2010) it was 2007 and 2008 in leading roles in the television films Agatha Christie's Marple - Fatal error and Agatha Christie's Poirot - Appointment with Death, and 2008 and 2011 as a guest performer in the series Lewis - the Oxford Crime and Bedlam to see. His first leading role in a television series, he took over from 2011 to 2012 as Dr. Lawrence Shepherd in Dr. Monroe. He also appeared in plays on, including the Ethel Barrymore Theatre in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the Royal Court Theatre in David Hare's time window.
Since March 2013, he portrayed the famous artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci in the action history series Da Vinci's Demons. The series is a co-production between the British broadcaster BBC and U.S. cable channel Starz.
