On March 30, 2012, he stood on the same line as the first skateboarders ever a 1080th He needed only for five attempts and managed during warm-up in preparation again a 900

A few weeks later Schaar won on 30 April 2012 at the X Games Asia in Shanghai competition on the mini mega ramp, after he had completed another successful 1080, for which he received 94.00 points from the adjudicators. He pointed Bob Burnquist and Ronaldo Gomes on the seats and is the youngest ever X Games gold medalist. As a result, he received an invitation to be held in Los Angeles in the summer of the same year X-Games XVIII. There, in the Big Air competition, it was enough for him on 29 June 2012, however, despite a successful 900 only for eighth place.

The year 2013 was very successful for Schaar. In June, he secured in the first issue of the X-Games in Munich, the bronze medal in the Skateboard Big Air and reached almost a month later at the "original" X-Games XIX in Los Angeles in the same competition even second place.
