Toma Caragiu

Toma Caragiu ( born August 21, 1925 in Hrupista, Greece, † March 4, 1977 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actor.

Caragiu was equally present on the screen, on stage and on screen. He joined primarily on in comedies, but also starred in dramas; one of his best roles he had in the movie Actorul şi sălbaticii (1975).

Caragiu was born the son of a Greek -born family and died in 1977 at the height of his career during an earthquake.

He was the brother of the linguist Matilda Caragiu Marioţeanu ( 1927-2009 ).
