Tomas Platzer

Thomas Platzer ( * 1969 (1970? ) ) Is a former German Skeleton driver.

Thomas Platzer was one of the most successful German Skeleton pilots of the 1990s. His greatest successes he achieved in the first half of the decade, when he in 1990 and 1991, the German championship title won in 1992 and the Second place went to. Three times he took from 1990 to 1993 at Skeleton World Championships in part and always gained placements in the top ten. On the Combined ice rink in Koenigssee he missed a medal in fourth place in 1990 just barely. The same position he attained at the same place in 1992 in the Skeleton World Cup and thus also his best result in this competition. On 1 November 2002 Platzer tested positive at a unannounced doping control on Stanazol and then locked nationally and internationally two years by the German Association for one year. He then finished his career in 2004 and moved on to the staff of the Association and has been responsible for material questions.
