Tomáš Řepka (2010)

Tomáš Řepka ( born January 2, 1974 in Slavičín ) is a Czech football player.

Playing career

His youth clubs were Brumov and TJ Sokol Gottwaldov. His professional career began at Banik Ostrava, where he played from 1991 to 1995. He then moved to Sparta Prague and stayed for three seasons there. In summer 1998 it undertook Fiorentina. 2001 became the club into financial difficulties and was forced to sell his best players. For 5.5 million British pounds Řepka moved to West Ham United.

In his debut for the London club known for his rude and aggressive style of play Řepka was sent off and suspended for one match. But already in his third game for West Ham he saw again the red card. Fans of West Ham still gave him the nickname " Super Tom". In early 2006, he expressed the desire to go back to his home and changed for about 1 million euros to Sparta Prague.

Since January 2012, Řepka plays at Dynamo České Budějovice.

Tomáš Řepka debuted on 16 June 1993 in the Faroe Islands for the Czechoslovakian national team. Then he played another 45 times for the Czech national team, last on 10 November 2001 in Brussels against Belgium. In this game he saw in the 42 minutes the red card, the Czech Republic lost the first leg Relegation to the 2002 World Cup 0-1. Řepka said after the missed World Cup qualifier announced his retirement from the national team.
