Tomasz Sikora

Tomasz Sikora ( born December 21, 1973 in Wodzisław Slaski ) is a Polish biathlete.

The starting for NGKS dynamite Chorzow Sikora reached at the Junior World Championships in 1993 to second place over 10 km and was at the Biathlon World Championships 1995 World Champion over 20 km. He won silver at the 2004 World Championships in turn over the 20 km.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 he won the silver medal in the mass start 15 km.

After his world title in 1995 Tomasz Sikora had to wait eleven years in his second victory; this he succeeded on 19 March 2006 in the mass start in Kontiolahti. In the 2005/06 season the Pole won the World Cup discipline rating in the sprint. However, it took almost two years before he could celebrate his next success. On 5 January 2008 he was the winner in the Sprint of Oberhof. Another win in the mass start he succeeded on 9 March 2008 in Khanty-Mansiysk. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season Sikora won in Ostersund for the first time a pursuit race. More podium finishes and top 10 results followed during the season, so in the end the most successful World Cup season Tomasz Sikora was second place in the overall World Cup and third in the discipline rating persecution to book. Tomasz Sikora took part in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. His best result was the 7th place in the individual. In the mass start, he was 11th in the sprint and 29th in the pursuit Sikora took the 18th place.
