Tomb of Daniel

The grave of Daniel and the tomb of Daniel in Susa, Iran, is traditionally the place where the prophet Daniel to be buried. In addition to this place claimed several other places in the Middle East to host his grave. But Susa is considered the most accepted place. The grave was first written records of Benjamin of Tudela, who visited the place in 1160.

Daniel could have stayed according to biblical tradition, during the Babylonian exile in Susa ( cf. Dan 8.9 EU). About his death is in the Bible not been reported, but according to Jewish and Arab tradition is his grave to be found in Susa.

The mausoleum is in the form of an asymmetrical white tower. It is a Muslim pilgrimage.
