Tomb of Sultan Murat

As Meshed -i Hüdavendigar ( Ottoman مشهد خداوندگار, "about" place where the ruler [ Murad I ] fell as a martyr " ," alb. Tyrbja e Sulltan Muratit, serb. coarse Sultana Murata / Гроб Султана Мурата ) is the Türbe of the Ottoman Sultan Murad I called. It is the first Ottoman building that was built in Kosovo today.

Murad I was stabbed to death in 1389 during the Battle of Kosovo from a Serbian assassin. Before the body of the Sultan could be transferred to Bursa, his internal organs were removed and buried in the Türbe on the battlefield. The body of the Sultan is located in a Türbe, which was built in Çekirge, a suburb of Bursa.

The Meshed -i Hüdavendigar stands in the village Mazgit, around 10 kilometers east of Pristina. Sultan Abdulhamid II had the building restored in 1896 and grow a guest house for overnight stays. 1911 visited Sultan Mehmed V the Türbe as part of a Balkans tour and prayed with 100,000 Muslims in the field.

2005 was the Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı restore the building.
