Project spin-offs
Since the Mono project in Linux distributions numerous program library dependencies moves to what especially in the limited storage space for CD images plays a role, and there was also concerns about the reproduction of patented Microsoft technology by the Free Software community, Gnote was developed. The program is a C port of Tomboy, which replicates all the functionality without having to rely on Mono libraries. In Fedora 12, the program is included in the default installation.
