Tome (Miyagi)

Tome (Japanese登米 市, -shi ) is a city in Miyagi Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.

Geography

Tome is located about 70 km north of Sendai, the prefectural capital. The Kitakami flows through the city.

History

The city was on 1 April 2005 from the communities Toyoma (登米 町, machi ), Towa (东 和 町, machi ), Nakada (中 田 町, machi ), Toyosato (豊 里 町, machi ), Yoneyama (米 山 町, machi ), Hasama (迫 町, machi ), Ishikoshi (石 越 町, machi ), Minamikata (南方 町, machi ) of the district Tome and Tsuyama (津 山founded町, machi ) of the district Motoyoshi. The county Tome was thereupon be dissolved.
