Tomils

Tomils GR

Tomils is a municipality in the district Domleschg in the district Hinterrhein the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

It was created on 1 January 2009 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities Feldis / Veulden, Scheid, Trans and Tumegl / Tomils.

Coat of arms

Description: In blue yellow decreased rafters, about three yellow six-pointed star side by side with a green sechsstrahliger star.

The four stars represent the four former municipalities. The star under the rafter is Tomils, located in the valley. The other three municipalities are located far above the valley floor. The rafters comes from the coat of arms of Trans In Scheid are two and in that of Tumegl / Tomils a star. Thus, the stars have not only a pure counting function. The colors blue and yellow correspond to those of the previous coat of arms of Tomils.
