Tomm Moore

Tomm Moore ( born January 7, 1977 in Newry, Northern Ireland) is an Irish animator and film director.

Life

Moore was born in Northern Ireland Newry. His parents moved with him to the Irish Kilkenny, where he attended St Kieran 's College. He studied at Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin. In 1998 he founded with three colleagues, the Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon. 2001 and 2003 he published comic novels in Irish language. He then worked for the animation and as an art director in various films.

For his film Brendan and the Secret of Kells (orig. The Secret of Kells ) from 2009, in which he not only took over the directing and production, but was also involved in the script and soundtrack, Moore was nominated for an Oscar in 2010 the category nominated for Best Animated Feature. Other nominations the film received Best Film at the Film Festival in Annecy and the Irish Film and Television Awards, and for Best Animated Feature Film at the European Film Awards. Awards for best animated film, there was at Boulder International Film Festival and the Irish Film and Television Awards. Audience Awards won Brendan and the Secret of Kells at the Film Festival in Annecy, the Dublin International Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. In addition, Moore was honored as Best Producer of the Cartoon d'Or at the Cartoon Forum Awards.
