Tommaso Rocchi ( born September 19, 1977 in Venice ) is an Italian footballer who plays in the position of center forward.
Career
In the club
Tommaso Rocchi began his career in the 1995/96 season at Juventus, but where it was never used, which is why he moved to the C2 series after just one season at Pro Patria. There he played regularly and changed at the end of the season for the U.S. Fermana in the Serie C1. After only three months, the striker went to league rivals FBC Saronno, where he was the 1997/98 regular players.
From 1998 to 2001 Tommaso Rocchi was at Como Calcio under contract. He could recommend for the Series B Club FBC Treviso Due to its good performance and its goals. For the season 2001 /02 changed Rocchi for Empoli FC in the Serie B. With the Tuscan club he made went straight to promotion to Serie A, where he made the final breakthrough in the following two seasons.
After the descent of the FC Empoli in Serie B, Rocchi moved in summer 2004 to Lazio, where he stood up in January 2013 under contract, and formed with players like Paolo Di Canio, Goran Pandev and Mauro Zárate successful duos. In Lazio Rocchi is one of the most goals in the club's history, on 30 October 2011, he scored against Cagliari Calcio his 100th competitive goal for the Romans.
Rocchi has also been some seasons captain of Lazio and managed during his time with the Romans made it into the Italian national team.
In his last years at Lazio Rocchi made but to create a variety of injuries: In the season 2008/ 09 he missed, for example the complete start to the season, in the 2010/11 season he was sidelined for several months due to knee problems. In the first half of the season 2012/13 Rocchi was only a reserve player for the Romans and brought it to only three bets.
In January 2013 he joined Inter Milan. On April 7, 2013, he scored against Atalanta Bergamo his first goal for Milan. At the same time, these were to be 100th goal in Serie A. Inter Milan did not renew his contract, which expired at the end of season, however, and after Rocchi had found some time to search club, he signed with the Series B club Calcio Padova a contract until June 2014.
In the National Team
Tommaso Rocchi graduated between 1995 and 1996 a total of 15 youth caps for Italy, scoring seven goals.
On August 16, 2006, he was against Croatia under Roberto Donadoni made his international debut. So far Rocchi completed three games for the Italian national team.
With the Olympic team in Italy Rocchi took part in Beijing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The striker completed a game, scored a goal and retired with his team in the quarter-final against Belgium from.
