Tomme de Savoie

Tomme de Savoie is a French cheese made from unpasteurized cow's milk. Since 1996, he carries the EU Community symbol for products with a protected geographical indication (French Geographical Indication protégée ( IGP) ). This cheese is produced in the region of Savoy. The cheese is usually prepared directly on the pastures. Its texture is compact and cut resistant and characterized by small holes. He is the only Tomme cheese, skimmed the part and in different fat levels ( 10%, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %, 30 % fat in dry matter and whole milk cheese) is offered. The annual production amounts to about 6,000 tons, of which about 500 tons come from small farms.
