Tommy Aldridge

Tommy Aldridge ( born August 15, 1950 in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American hard rock and heavy metal drummer, best known for his work with many bands and artists. Among them are Black Oak Arkansas, Pat Travers, the band, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent and Thin Lizzy. He coined with the development of the double bass playing.

Career

Aldridge came in the early 1970s to the emerging rock band Black Oak Arkansas and took 1972-1976 nine albums with them. 1978 to 1981 he played at the Pat Travers band of the same name Canadian blues-rock guitarist. After him the drummer position with Ozzy Osbourne was offered, he also assumed because of the exceptional talent Randy Rhoads. Although he is called in Diary of a Madman as a drummer, Lee Kerslake played on the original version of the album. After Bark at the Moon Aldridge was fired by Sharon Osbourne.

Similarly, Aldridge played in 1981 for Gary Moore. In 1986, he started with Rudy Sarzo, Tony MacAlpine and Rob Rock the Project Driver. Finally, Aldridge took 1987 as well as Rudy Sarzo on an offer from David Coverdale of Whitesnake. Although it was too late to play along on 1987, but on Slip of the Tongue (1989 ), he could be heard. In 1990, this occupation broke up.

After Whitesnake Aldridge played in the 1990s for Manic Eden ( with Rudy Sarzo and Adrian Vandenberg ), Motörhead and Ted Nugent, but was 2002-2007 again working for the band. From 2007 to 2009 Aldridge toured with Thin Lizzy.

Aldridge plays Yamaha drums and Paiste used, but in the meantime Zildjian cymbals.
