Tommy Castro

Tommy Castro ( born April 15, 1955 in San Jose, California) is an American blues guitarist.

Life

The age of ten, he showed interest in the guitar and listened to blues greats like Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop. As he worked closer with blues, inspired him to play the guitar of BB King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Freddie King, as well as the singing styles of Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and James Brown. Until 1991, the year of the founding of the Tommy Castro band, he played in various bands in the Bay Area. In 1993 the band won the Bay Area Music Award for Best Club Band of the year, a success that she was able to repeat next year. Working as a house band for the NBC broadcast Comedy Showcase increased its popularity since it was aired right after "Saturday Night Live" and reaching as many viewers.
