Tommy Dunderdale

Thomas " Tommy" Dunderdale ( born May 6, 1887 in Benalla, Australia, † December 15, 1960 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) was a professional Australian- Canadian professional ice hockey player in his playing days from 1905 to 1924 among others for the Montreal Shamrocks and Quebec Bulldogs played in the National Hockey Association.

Career

Tommy Dunderdale, who emigrated to Canada at age 17, began his career as a hockey player in the Manitoba Professional Hockey League, where he was active from 1905 to 1909 for the Ramblers Winnipeg, Winnipeg Strathcona, Winnipeg Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Shamrocks. Then moved the attacker in the National Hockey Association, the predecessor of the National Hockey League League in which he ever a year playing for the Montreal Shamrocks and Quebec Bulldogs. From 1911 to 1923, the right-handed shooter ( from 1921 Victoria Cougars ) and Portland Rosebuds stood for the Victoria Aristocrats on the ice, where he won the championship in 1914 with the PCHA Victoria.

Dunderdale was one of the best Spieleren the PCHA and was elected to the All-Star team in the league six times. His career ended after the 1923/24 season with the Saskatoon Crescents and Edmonton Eskimos of the Western Canada Hockey League. As the first and only Australian he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1974.
