Tommy Gemmell

Thomas " Tommy" Gemmell ( born October 16, 1943 in Motherwell ) is a former Scottish football player and coach.

Playing career

Celtic Glasgow (1961-1971)

Gemmell played as a left-back and was known for his powerful long shots. On October 25, 1961, he moved from Colt Ness United to Celtic Glasgow. He was one of the Lisbon Lions, who won the first British team to the European Cup of Champions 1966/67, 2-1 against Inter Milan. In the final of this competition, he scored a spectacular goal, which led to the temporary 1-1 draw. In total, he scored four goals during the current competition.
