Tommy Quickly

Tommy Quickly (* July 7, 1943 in Liverpool as Thomas Quigley ) is a British singer of the early 1960s. His manager, Brian Epstein, in which the Beatles were under contract.

Brian Epstein discovered Tommy Quickly, when he was still in Liverpool singer of the band The Challengers. Although Epstein saw Quickly potential, but not in his band and therefore initially proposed to rename the group in Tommy Quickly and the Stops. Finally, let Epstein his protege of the band The Remo Four accompany. He also urged Quickly to interpret pop songs, although his voice was more suited to rhythm and blues. The first single, which was released in August 1963 under the name of Tommy Quickly, called Tip of My Tongue - a hitherto unpublished Lennon / McCartney composition. Following Quickly went on an extensive promotional tour. However, the single turned out to be a flop, and Tip of my Tongue was the only Lennon / McCartney composition that could not place in the British charts. It was followed by three more unsuccessful singles. It was the fifth single wild side of life placed itself in October 1964 to 33 on the UK singles chart. A sixth single was unsuccessful.
