Tomoe nage

The Tomoe nage (巴 投Japanese ) is one of the 40 traditional Judo throws after Kanō Jigorō. It belongs to the third group ( Sankyo), the traditional throwing list, the traditional Gokyo (no waza ) and the 67 current litters of Kodokan. He is also the group of Ma - Sutemi assigned ( case self - sacrifice or throws to the rear).

Name

His name was given to the litter after a traditional Japanese symbol, the Tomoe, which in turn is inspired by a water vortex. The similarity of the executed throw from the side, with both fighters circling around an imaginary axis that led to the naming of the art.

Execution

Tori initially engages both hands into Uke's lapel. He gives his balance back to where it attaches itself to uke and so breaks the balance forward. While Uke begins to tilt forward Tori puts his foot on Uke's pubic bone or the bar, forcing Uke by train with the poor and pressure with the foot to a case forward roll over Tori. Tori's second foot remains on the ground and helps him to a stable end position in which both players lying head to head on the back.

There are several variations. For example, the Tori complete the reverse role and thus position the end of the technology on the Uke.

Defense

A defense of the art may consist, inter alia, in good time to go into a crouch or repel the heaving foot of the attacker.
