Tomojirō Ikenouchi

Ikenouchi Tomojiro (Japanese池内 友 次郎, Ikenouchi Tomojiro; born October 21, 1906 in Tokyo, † 9 March 1991) was a Japanese composer and music educator.

Until 1946 he was a professor at Nihon Daigaku, then at the Academy of Music and Fine Arts in Tokyo. Among his many pupils were Yun I- sang, Ichiyanagi Toshi, Mayuzumi Toshirō, Maki Ishii, Ikebe Shin'ichiro, Makoto Shinohara, Akira Miyoshi, Akio Yashiro, Ogura Rō, Kohei Tanaka, Matsumura Teizo and Hirose Ryohei.

Ikenouchi composed a symphonic suite and other orchestral pieces and chamber music. In 1986 he was the Bunka Kōrōsha, the person with special cultural merits, appointed and honored.
