tomsrtbt

Tomsrtbt (pronounced Tom's Root Boot ) is a very small Linux distribution. It is the short form for " Tom's floppy which contains a root file system and is bootable ." The author advertises as " The most GNU / Linux on a floppy disk "; it contains many common Linux commands for System Restore (Linux and other operating systems) and the creation of Linux diskless. It also provides drivers for various hardware and network functionality.

Use

The distribution can be created from Microsoft Windows or Linux out by a standard formatted -1 ,44 -MB diskette with high-density (1.72 MB) and writes the image to the disk. It is able to read filesystems many operating systems and describe, including ext2 ( Linux uses ), FAT (used in MS -DOS and some Windows versions ), NTFS ( Windows NT, 2000 and XP uses ) and Minix ( in Minix operating system used).

The finished disk can then be used as a rescue disk or analysis. Thus, the hardware configuration of a computer can be listed or to access the data of the computer.

History

The latest version of tomsrtbt was released in May 2002. Since it is no longer being developed. There are some followers, many on CD, because the CD drive is the floppy drive now been largely overshadowed. In the years before 2002 tomsrtbt enjoyed a fairly high level of awareness.
