Tonami, Toyama

Tonami (Japanese砺 波 市, -shi) is a city in Toyama prefecture in Japan.

Geography

Tonami located west of Toyama and south of Takaoka.

History

The community Tonami (砺 波 町, machi ) was awarded its town charter on April 1, 1954. With the incorporation on 1 November 2004, the municipality Shogawa (庄 川 町, machi ) the city was refounded.
