Tongi ( Bengali: টঙ্গী, Tangi, formerly anglicized: Tungi ) is an industrial city in the north of Dhaka Bangladesh. The city has an estimated 400,000 inhabitants. Tongi consists of 9 wards ( districts ).

The city is growing very fast, so that they will soon be completely merged with the city of Dhaka.
