Toni Fritsch

Anton " Toni" Fritsch (* July 10, 1945 in Petronell -Carnuntum, † 13 September 2005 in Vienna ) was an Austrian football player at SK Rapid Wien and an American football player in the National Football League ( NFL), where it as a kicker with the Dallas Cowboys won a Super Bowl.

Football

1957 Fritsch began his career in the youth team of Rapid Vienna. In 1958 his parents died. Robert grains was the young player's mentor. In the spring of 1964 the first use of the 18 -year-old in the first team was. From 1964 to 1971 Toni Fritsch graduated as a winger total of 123 league matches for Rapid Vienna and was three times Austrian Champion (1964, 1967, 1968), and twice Austrian Cup winner (1968, 1969).

His nickname ' Wembley Toni ' was the then 20 -year-old Fritsch, when he scored two goals in his first race for the Austrian national team on 20 October 1965 sensational 3-2 win over England at Wembley Stadium.

American Football

He took Toni Fritsch in the U.S., where he played the next 14 years American Football. The Cowboys won the specialist for " Free Kicks " 1972 Super Bowl VI and stood in 1976 at the final of the Super Bowl X against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After one season with the San Diego Chargers Fritsch returned again in 1977 to Texas back and played the next five years for the Houston Oilers, where he was elected in 1980 to the Pro Bowl. After a trip to the New Orleans Saints but he returned again to Houston back now to the Gamblers competitors League United States Football League ( USFL ).

On 13 September 2005, he died unexpectedly of a heart attack.
