Tonicha

Tonicha (aka: Antónia de Jesus Montes Tonicha Viegas; born March 8, 1946 in Beja ) is a Portuguese pop and folk singer.

Her music career started in the mid 1960s with a Christmas album. As the winner of the Festival da Canção 1971 she was allowed to participate in the Euro Vision Song Contest 1971 in Dublin. With the hit Menina do alto da serra they placed ninth. She stayed until old age hit the Portuguese faithful and has published numerous recordings.
