Tonje Angelsen

Tonje Angelsen ( born January 17, 1990 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian athlete who specializes in the high jump.

Angelsen began her athletic career as a heptathlete and finished the Athletics European Cup the all-rounder in 2006 with 5074 points to eighth place in the third-class 2nd League. After that, she focused on her strongest single discipline, the high jump. That same year, she participated in the Junior World Championships in Beijing, but could not there to qualify for the final.

In the years that followed did not succeed Angelsen first to survive at major international events such as the European Athletics Championships 2010 in Barcelona or the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu qualifying rounds. In May 2012, it increased to 1.95 m your best performance and thus qualified for participation in the Olympic Games in London. A month later she won at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki with a further increase to 1.97 m surprise the silver medal behind Spaniard Ruth Beitia.
