Tony Danza

Tony Danza (* April 21, 1951 as Anthony Salvatore Iadanza in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City ) is an American actor of Italian descent.

Biography

Danza earned a degree in history at the University of Dubuque in Iowa. In 1976 he launched a career as a professional boxer at middleweight. He denied during his active career total of twelve fights, nine of which he by Ko won. In 1978 he made his debut as an actor in the television series Taxi, in which he starred alongside Danny DeVito and Andy Kaufman. In 1979 he ended his boxing career and decided to quite for acting. In 1980 he was nominated for his role in Taxi for a Golden Globe.
