Tony George

Tony George ( born December 30, 1959 Anton Hulman George native ) is a former owner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS ), former president of Hulman & Co. and former team manager of the Vision Racing team. Tony is the grandson of Tony Hulman, who bought the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after the end of World War II.

After the death of Joe Cloutier in 1989 was Tony George President and CEO of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation. During his first years at the Motor Speedway, he oversee new projects to the circuit (Tower Terrace Suites, reconstruction of the pit lane and new control towers).

Before Tony Georges arrival of the IMS had traditionally only one race, the Indianapolis 500 After an agreement with the NASCAR debuted on August 6, 1994, the Brickyard 400 with Jeff Gordon as the winner.
