Tony Gray (rugby coach)

Anthony John "Tony" Gray ( born June 14, 1942 in Stoke -on-Trent, England ) is a former Welsh rugby union player and coach. He played as a winger.

Gray was twice used in the Welsh national team during the Five Nations in 1968, opponents were England and Scotland. He played for clubs Newbridge and London Welsh. The latter, he served as captain in 1972 to the English Championship. In 1985 he took over the post of national coach Wales '. At the first World Cup he reached with the selection of the third place, to date, the best result in World Cup tournaments for the country. In 1988 he was elected coach of the year in Europe after Wales won the Triple Crown. After two defeats against New Zealand ended its involvement as a coach.
