Tony Muréna

Antonio "Tony" Murena ( born January 24, 1915 in Borgo Val di Taro, † January 29, 1971 in Le Vésinet ) was an Italian- French accordion player ( and bandoneon player) and composer of the Musette, who worked in France.

His parents emigrated to France in 1923 and they lived in Nogent -sur -Mer. About an uncle he came to the accordion and played from nine years at events and later in music halls and cabarets. In the 1930s he played - as an excellent bandoneon player in many then-known tango orchestras and had her own quintet. In the 1940s he played in the Hot Club de France and he was so well known that Glenn Miller wanted to play with him, which was prevented by his death. In 1947 he played in Cambodia before King Sihanouk ( who himself played accordion ), he toured in South America, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. He purchased 1949 own dancing ( Le Mirliton ) in Paris. There also played Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. In 1950 he arrived in the United States Astor Piazzolla. In 1958 he founded the Musette Orchestra of Radio Luxembourg and appeared on French television.

From him the classic musette waltz comes Indifference ( with Joseph Colombo).
