Tony Palmer

Tony Palmer ( b. 1941 ) is a British film director and writer. He participated in more than 60 films and worked early in the 1960s with artists like the Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa or together. Later he directed films and biopics about artists, composers and musicians such as Benjamin Britten, Maria Callas, Margot Fonteyn, Yehudi Menuhin, John Osborne, Sergei Rachmaninov, Dmitri Shostakovich, Igor Stravinsky, Richard Wagner and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Also in the theater and to the opera he directed. He has published several books.
