Tony Stokes

Tony Stokes ( born January 7, 1987 in London, England ) is an English footballer who is currently at the Hungarian first division club FC Újpest under contract.

The midfielder, who hails from the famous youth of West Ham, debuted in 2005 in the Carling Cup at the age of 18 years. During the 2005/06 season he was on loan at Rushden & Diamonds. In August 2006 he was loaned for one month at Brighton & Hove Albion, the lending was prematurely extended by one month, Stokes moved to the end of the loan period back to West Ham United, because he saw no chance for a regular place in Brighton. He was then awarded to Stevenage Borough, where he completed three games and scored his first Karrieretor in a competition game.

After two months, he returned to West Ham United. After he still saw no sporting perspective at the Londoners, was another lending and he moved to end of season for Hungarian first division Újpest FC. After his contract was not expected to be prolonged at West Ham United, he signed a new contract with FC Újpest.
