Tony Trabert

Marion Anthony Trabert, known as Tony Trabert ( born August 16, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio ) is a former American professional tennis player.

He reached in his career total of 10 times the finals at a Grand Slam tournament, 5 each in singles and doubles, and won all finals.

His best year in tennis was the year 1955 when he won the Australian Open in doubles, won at the French Open, both in single as well as double and was able to make the men's singles at Wimbledon and Forest Hills victorious. A year later he moved to the professional tennis players.

He also played in the Davis Cup, and in 1953 and 1976 to 1980 Captain of the U.S. team.

In 1970 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of tennis.
