Tony Tuzzolino

Charles Anthony "Tony" Tuzzolino ( born October 9, 1975 in Buffalo, New York ) is a retired Italian- American hockey player at the position of the center, during his active career, among other nine NHL games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins graduated in the National Hockey League. His brother Nick is also a professional hockey player.

Career

After Tony Tuzzolino initially for various teams in unterklassigen U.S. junior leagues, including in the North American Hockey League played a few years, the striker started the season 1993/94 to study at Michigan State University. For the ice hockey team, known as Spartans, the right-handed shooter was active during four seasons in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. After Tuzzolino had scored in his rookie season, only seven points scorer, he managed to increase his points total in each of the following three seasons. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the fifth round at 113th overall position of the Quebec Nordiques. After relocation of the franchise to Denver in June 1995 and renamed it Colorado Avalanche this still retained the NHL rights to the attacker. Since the Avalanche no contract with Tuzzolino brought into being and the exclusive rights were now forfeited, he signed in April 1997 as a free agent contract with the New York Islanders.

However, it remained the jump to the NHL squad of Islanders denied, so the offensive player nor during the 1997/98 season, on 6 February 1998, together with Travis Green and Doug Houda in exchange for Joe Sacco, Jean -Jacques Daigneault and Mark Janssens was transferred to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. The following two seasons spent Tuzzolino mainly at their farm team, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, in the American Hockey League. During his further professional career until the summer of 2010 Tuzzolino was again in the service of HC Asiago and the Flint Generals, in between still followed by an engagement at SV Ritten and in the spring of 2010 finally signed the attacker a contract until the end of the season when HC Appiano Pirates in Serie A2.

Internationally

For Italy Tuzzolino participated in Turin at the Olympic Winter Games 2006. The striker was in four tournament matches on the ice and contributed with an assist in the 2:7 defeat to Canada in the statistics a.
