Topology (electrical circuits)

The term topology or circuit topology is the manner of interconnection of the components, based on the desired function in the electronics.

It is its short description in contrast to the basic circuit diagram. The description is made verbally or with common abbreviations

The topology does not say anything about the dimensioning of the components or their type. Circuit topologies provide is always useful when among professionals technical solutions to be discussed or compared.

Information for topologies can be found in power amplifiers, power amplifiers, switching power supplies, rectifiers ( controlled, uncontrolled ), converters or inverters.

Also the connection of asynchronous motors (eg star or delta, star- delta switch ) is strictly speaking a topology.
