Topsite (warez)

Topsite is a term from the warez scene and describes the FTP server that will be used by release groups for the distribution and storage of warez releases. Topsites are usually with connections in the range 100 Mbit / s connected to several Gbit / s to the Internet. Storage in the terabyte range is the rule.

Security

Unlike the predecessor in the BBS scene topsites are not advertised. With the increasing number of police operations was forced to increase the safety precautions.

Partner

A warez group can get access to a topsite as partners, by adding the site to their Erstveröffentlichungspunkten. This is usually done in return for permission to download files to their members.
