Tor-Cairn

A Tor Cairn is a prehistoric place of worship, but occurs in the British Isles, especially in Cornwall and Devon in Wales. It consists of a circular enclosure of stone or a platform of loose stones around a natural Felsaufschuss (English Gate), sometimes surrounded by a moat. The diameters of about 35 known Tor Cairns range from 12 to over 30 m and its height varies from 0.5 m to 4.0 m. There is usually an access to the enclosed region, and pits in the floor area between the information and the enclosure.

Finds of flint tools, pottery, gravel and quartz as well as weapons and jewelry made ​​of bronze have allowed the plants to the early 2nd millennium BC, dated to the early Bronze Age.
