Torba Province

Torba is the northernmost province of the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu. The province includes the Torres Islands and the Banks Islands, the latter including the small group of Rowa Islands ( Reef Islands ) and the small, somewhat remote Vétaounde Island. In the south of Torba is followed by the provinces and Sanma Penama.

As with all ( of the six ) Provinces of Vanuatu is derived the term Torba by the name of the region situated in the main islands or island groups, in this case of the Torres Islands, the Rowa Islands and the Banks Islands, from.

On a land area of 882 km ² Today, about 9,359 people. The provincial capital Sola, located on Vanua Lava in the Banks Islands archipelago, has around 100 inhabitants.
