Tord Grip

Tord Grip ( born January 13, 1938 in Ytterhogdal, community Härjedalen ) is a Swedish football manager and former football and Bandyspieler.

Career

Playing career

Grip first played in the youth at Ytterhogdals IK. In 1956 he moved to Degerfor to work at a steel company and at the same time to study sport. There he played in Degerfors IF in Division 1, 1959 reached the summit in the Allsvenskan. In 1966 he moved to 119 first division matches in which he scored 41 goals, the league rivals AIK Solna. Here, he played three seasons in 56 games and scored 15 goals. In 1969 he moved as player-coach for the second division KB Karlskoga, where he ended his active career in 1973.

Between 1963 and 1967, played three times for the Swedish national team grip. He also played twelve B- internationals.

Coaching career

After Grip 1969-1973 had already been player-manager of KB Karlskoga, he moved in 1974 to the dugout for Örebro SK. After two seasons, he returned in 1976 to his first professional station as a player and became coach at Degerfors IF.

Starting in 1977, supervised grip as assistant coach of the Swedish national team Georg Ericson. After the 1978 World Cup, he returned to Örebro SK, but trained in parallel the U- 21 team in Sweden. In 1981, he became head coach at Malmö FF. He twice won the Swedish Cup with the club.

In 1986 Grip abroad and took over the coaching job at Campobasso Calcio in Italy. In 1987 he was the Norwegian national team coach. After a year he returned to club football and oversaw the Swiss BSC Young Boys.

From 1991, he worked as an assistant coach again. Under the management of Tommy Svensson he worked until 1997 for the Swedish national football team. 1995/96 he worked parallel nor for the Indonesian Association, when he took over the Olympic team. In 1998, he returned in April to the Young Boys to train them up to the summer break.

Since 1998 Grip has worked as an assistant to Sven -Goran Eriksson. First, he was in charge with him Lazio Rome, where she won the Italian championship in 2000. Later they worked together in the England team. After the 2006 World Cup they finished their chance with the English Association. Then she managed jointly Manchester City and later the Mexican national team. After Eriksson moved on as sports director at Notts County in 2009, he succeeded him as advisor to the resignation on 12 February 2010 after outstanding salary payments.

In September 2013, the English club Southampton FC Grip committed as a scout for the Scandinavian region. The end of February, he took over the post of assistant coach for team coach Albert Bunjaki for the Kosovo national team.
