Torez

Gate (Ukrainian and Russian Торез - to 1964 Чистякове / Tschistjakowe or Russian Чистяково / Tschistjakowo ) is an eastern Ukrainian industrial city in the Donetsk Oblast in southern Donbass with 57,086 inhabitants ( 2013) and is since 1964 by Maurice Thorez, the former head of Communist Party of France, named.

Municipality

The township is adjacent to the city proper or from the two settlements of urban type Pelahijiwka ( Пелагіївка ) and Rossypne ( Розсипне ) and has a total of 81 918 inhabitants (July 1, 2012).

History

The city was founded in 1778 as a small settlement at the confluence of two smaller rivers from runaway serfs from different provinces of Russia. When the Sloboda ( an old Russian church form) Alexeyevka was founded in 1800 by General Leonov, 225 people lived in the place.

Since the 1860s, the city is a center of the coal industry. Since the mid 19th century, the place was called Tschistjakowe ( according to the Kaufmann Chistyakov from Taganrog ). 1875 Tschistjakower mining company was founded. In the north of the city still exist both of whose mines Naklonnaja and Galeria, as well as the pit of Nadja Alexeyevka mining company. 1909 were in the area around Tschistjakowe around 77,000 tonnes ( 4,700.000 Pud ) promoted coal until 1916, the flow rate increased to 1,258,000 tonnes ( 78.8 million poods ).

In 1924 there were in the mining area to Tschistjakowe 142 settlements with a total of 44 679 inhabitants. 1932, the site of the city was raised. In 1933 the merger of 10 pits for Trust Tschistjakowugol.

In the 1940s Tschistjakowe was divided into three districts ( now-defunct ): Chervona Sirka ( "Red Star" ), Piwdenna Grupa ( " Southern" group ) and Stanzija Tschistjakowe ( " station area ").

In 1964, the city was named after the deceased in the same year, former chairman of the Communist Party of France, Maurice Thorez renamed.

The city's main industry is declining for years coal industry. With this economic downturn, the development of the population goes hand in hand.

Traffic

In gate a well-developed public transport system exists. 31 lines are served by buses and route taxis.

High-volume connections are available to Snischne and after Schachtarsk. Through the city of Donetsk, the highway runs to Lugansk. From the central bus station, long distance bus routes to Donetsk, Kharkiv and other major cities in eastern Ukraine.

Rail connections exist from the three railway stations:

  • Gate
  • Rossypne
  • Pelahijiwka

And the two breakpoints for electrified long-distance routes:

  • Donowo
  • Woskressenske
