The lion depicted in the arms is the Meissen lion who finds himself in the environment due to the previous area affiliations in the arms of many communities. The branch ( a linden branch ) that the lion holding in its claws, is a symbol of agriculture and forestation of the Elbe landscape in the area, which is why the stylized flow in the lower part of the emblem should also embody the same. The frequently encountered in the Saxon background in yellow or gold refers to the askanischen dukes.
