Torii Kedar Hunter ( born July 18, 1975 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas) is an American baseball player in the major leagues. After several years as a player of the Minnesota Twins, he has been active since 2008 at the LA Angels. Since 2001 he has been continuously awarded the Gold Glove Award.

Biography

Torii Hunter was selected by the Minnesota Twins as Erstrundendraftpick ( 20th position) in 1993 after graduating from high school. His first try for the Twins, he played on 22 August 1997. His first full season he graduated in 1999. He ended after 135 games with just one error in 293 chances in the outfield. In April 2000, Hunter was temporarily demoted to the minor league baseball. End of July 2000, he was brought back into the team the Twins, since he there developed into a leading player. At the end of the season he was voted the Best Defensive Outfielder and Most Exciting Player of the Pacific Coast League.
