Torņakalns – Tukums II Railway

The railway line Torņakalns - Tukums ( unofficially: Riga Tukums ) is a railway line in Latvia. She has the Russian track gauge of 1524 mm, has a length of 65 km and is electrified throughout. From Torņakalns to Sloka the route is expanded to double track. Owners and operators of the route is Latvijas dzelzceļš.

History

The line was opened in 1877. In 1895 she was nationalized in 1950 and the first electrified route in Latvia.

Operation today

It operate eleven pairs of trains per day on the entire route. (December 2013) From Riga to Sloka there are 31 pairs of trains per day.
